Rare oppotunity to own this amazing expedition trailer tent. So regrettably it has to go. The trailer is unbraked and rated to 750KG which was verified by previous owner's on a weighbridge. The main trailer lid lifts giving a massive amount of storage space, which we have found ample on our holidays. There are purpose built racks for 3 jerry cans or water containers.
I modified the gas bottle storage area to take 2 bottles to allow for more flexibility. The box on the front is lockable and contains 2 leisure batteries. It has a small solar panel which works well and the ability to charge batteries from the auxilary socket of a vehicle. I made a basic switch box which allows isolation of LED lights in tent and has 2 usb and 2 cigarette socket charging points. (It's a little rough but works well).
All the LED lights will be left for new owner. It also has a 240V connection plug if needed. Once you've got to site we found it best to remove all the stuff inside the trailer before putting up tent but you can access trailer through tailgate and under main bed if neccesary. Main tent erects easily and can be done in ten minutes with 2 of you. There is a raised sleeping area which has a memory foam matteress and two seld inflating matteress's underneath, its mega comfortable. If there were only a couple of you the main tent would be sufficient as the area to the side of it allows us to put a double and a single mattress and all our clothing bags. The awning is huge its a little bigger than the main tent but it takes a bit of getting up and down, it can be used with or without sides. When we got the tent the awning windows were just mesh (Australia's hot and dry) so we added some plastice windows ourselves (to stop the rain coming in). They do the job but if I was keeping it I'd probably get them done profesionally. I fitted a flashing plate for our frontier stove in the awning this means you can be warm on cold evenings, when in use we've recoreded 10 degree difference between inside and ouside temp, it's lovely thick canvas so holds the temp well. Frontier Stove will be included in sale, it's well used but has the extra water boiler, spark arrester and bags. Once you've got the awning up the cooking area swings open on the tail gate and is supported on a leg. This can be done at any time and we have pulled over and made a brew by the side of the road. (To the envy of passing motorists) There is a well used cooker with it but it's not in the best of condition. The awning has a full tub groundsheet and a non slip mat which covers about 80% of the floor. The main tent has its own built in floor which is really good quality and tough. We will leave a couple of plastic boxes in the trailer to help with storage and there is an unused porta loo if you want it. Jerry can and two water containers will be left on trailer, sadly i need to keep gas bottles due to deposits. The front of the trailer has been modified to take a thule towbar bike rack, this means you attach the bike rack to the ball in the picture and it sits over the spare wheel allowing you to fit the bikes. When you get to the campsite you can remove this and use it as normal on the towball of tow car. Really practical addition which we unfortunately haven't used as much as I'd have liked. Hopefully I've covered all the main points but really it would be best to come and have a look. I did find the original listing which can be accessed by searching for Kanga trailer on google. There are some better photo's as I was enjoying my holidayso much I forgot to get more photo's. Only bad point was when we opened it up this year was there was some mildew which can be seen in a couple of the photo's however the weather in Dorset whilst we were away was amazing and all but a small patch on main tent simply brushed off. The other part I have now cleaned off with some Fenwicks tent cleaner and its come up lovely. That reminded me that the best thing about this tent is when the weather is hot you can roll up all the windows and with mesh all around its properly cool in there, our friends who were with us had an air tent and had to be out by 0730 as it was too hot, you could happily stay in this all day (they know how to stay cool those Aussies) All in all an amazing trailer tent properly built and designed profesionally and it show's. We were fortunate enough to go to the recent Landrover Owner show at Peterborough and there was nothing any where near the size and quality of this tent. Now in dry storage so in no rush to sell.
